Big Y Foods this week inaugurated a new grocery customer loyalty program, called myBigY Rewards.
The Springfield, Massachusetts-based regional grocer said Wednesday that myBigY Rewards will bring customers new ways to save while offering more flexibility and choice.
Under the program, members earn points on every purchase with Big Y, including transactions at Big Y Supermarkets and Big Y Express Fresh Market. Each dollar spent earns shoppers one myRewards point, which gets loaded automatically into their myBigY account.
The points collected can be redeemed in three ways, Big Y said. Shoppers can convert points into savings on grocery purchases. For every 100 points, myBigY members will receive $1 off their groceries, up to a maximum of $20 off per transaction.
Discount rewards also extend to fuel, as rewards program participants get 10 cents off per gallon on gas, in addition to the current 5 cents-per-gallon discount, resulting in a maximum savings of $1.50 per gallon, with a 25 gallons per fill-up maximum, the grocer said.
myBigY members, too, can earn free products based on accumulated points. Reward items can be loaded into the shopper’s account and redeemed at their convenience.
Points are managed via customers’ myBigY accounts, designed to help members track their point totals and choose their rewards more easily, Big Y noted.
“We are continuously exploring new ways to bring value to our shoppers through personalized offers, digital coupons and weekly sales,” Sarah Steven, vice president of marketing at Big Y, said in a statement. “We are excited to now launch myBigY Rewards, giving us one more way to reward and thank our customers for their continued loyalty to Big Y.”
Overall, Big Y operates 90 stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut, including 72 Big Y supermarkets, one Big Y at Fresh Acres grocery store, one Big Y Express Fresh Market, one Table & Vine Fine Wines & Liquors store and 15 Big Y Express convenience/fuel stores.
