Barons Market’s 15-Minute Shopping Experience
Barons Market of San Diego recently opened its ninth location at the Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista, Calif. The innovative 21,000-square-foot store features the work of interior designer Julie Dugas of Studio H2G, and a 15-minute shopping experience that ensures customers get what they need quickly and conveniently. “We are hopeful that this Barons Market will make the lives of our new neighbors a little bit easier, especially our 15-minute shopping experience,” said Rachel Shemirani, SVP of Barons Market.
Food City Takes the Cake
The fully renovated and recently reopened Food City store at 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street in Phoenix offers an array of enhanced departments and services, including a bakery with desserts made from scratch, such as pan dulce, tres leches, and other specialty cakes; and an in-store tortilleria, which makes homemade flour and corn tortillas daily. As many residents who live in nearby neighborhoods face transportation challenges, Food City is offering a free shuttle for shoppers who spend $25 or more in the store. This marks the fourth Food City location to offer the shuttle service.
No Place Like Home for Natural Grocers
Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage’s newly opened Green Valley Ranch, Colo., store marks the Lakewood, Colo.-based retailer’s 41st location in the state. The store, which features soaring ceilings and sustainable building practices is also stocked with 100% fresh organic produce, humanely and sustainably raised meats, free-range eggs and pasture-based dairy.
PCC to Set Up Shop in Seattle
PCC Community Markets will open its 14th store on June 17 in Seattle’s Central District. As with all its stores, this one will reflect its community with an art installation by local artist Jite Agbro and a partnership with Byrd Barr Place, a new member to the co-op’s food bank program, which addresses food and nutrition needs in the neighborhood.
Titan of Texas BBQ
Part of its more than $200 million South Austin investment, H-E-B is set to open its newest store at 8801 S. Congress Ave. on June 10. The San Antonio-based grocer has filled the store with modern amenities, including the city’s first True Texas BBQ with dine-in and drive-thru options.
