As Amazon Fresh continues its nationwide expansion, the retailer opened a new store in Warrington, Pa., on Aug. 5. A day later, Amazon announced it would open a second location in its hometown of Seattle on Aug. 12. The Warrington location is the first Amazon Fresh store to open in the Keystone State. The new stores will bring the total number of Amazon Fresh locations in the country to 17.

The new stores feature many of the same Amazon Fresh signature deals, including 15-cent bananas, $1.79 freshly baked pizza slices and $4.97 rotisserie chickens. Both stores also offer local items unique to the area, as well as Amazon Fresh’s trademark “seamless grocery shopping experience,” which includes free, same-day delivery and pickup for Prime members; the Amazon Dash Cart; and Alexa-assisted shopping.

“Customers shopping at the store will find low prices, a broad selection of high-quality food and convenient, innovative shopping features,” said Ron Marra, store manager for Amazon Fresh Warrington, in a release. “I’m also proud that this store has created hundreds of good jobs with benefits locally.”

What’s on Tap at Warrington

The 35,000-square-foot Warrington store, located at 389 Easton Road, features both a wide assortment of national brands and high-quality produce, meat and seafood, as well as a range of prepared foods made fresh in store every day, the Seattle-based company said.

Local brands such as beers from Yuengling and Victory Brewing Co.; coffee from La Colombe Coffee Roasters; and snacks from Unique Pretzels are also in-store, as are Amazon-exclusive brands such as Aplenty, Fresh and Cursive.

$17 in Seattle

Amazon’s new 35,000-square foot Amazon Fresh store in Seattle’s Central District will be located at 2301 S. Jackson St. To celebrate its grand opening on Aug. 12, Amazon will offer product giveaways, free samples, activities for kids, a chance to win Amazon gift cards and more.

When the Amazon Fresh Central District Seattle store opens its doors, shoppers will also find deals on a variety of items across the aisles, such as $2.69 for a 12-pack of Coca-Cola, buy one, get one free Lay’s chips (7.5-8 ounces), 50% off Aplenty products, USDA Choice Fresh Brand Beef Ribeye Steak for $11.99 a pound, and a dozen of Happy Belly Large White or Brown eggs for $2.79.

Local brands featured at the new store will include items from Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, Macrina Bakery, Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream and more, the company said.

The new store will also bring hundreds of jobs to the community, which offer industry-leading pay starting at $17 an hour and a variety of benefits packages that start on the employee’s first day on the job, the company said.

“We’re thrilled to bring the first Amazon Fresh grocery store in Seattle to the Central District, providing customers with a wide selection of low-priced, high-quality fresh foods and a convenient in-store shopping experience,” said David Nielson, regional manager of Amazon Fresh grocery stores, in a statement. “We’re proud that this store has brought hundreds of great jobs to the area, and we are committed to continuing to contribute positively to the community.”
