Whole Foods Inspires Shoppers to 'Level Up' Lunch

Grocer to host healthy meal-prep events in key cities across the country

In a bid to be a go-to resource for fresh, healthful meals this back-to-school season, Whole Foods Market is campaigning to help consumers embrace better lunchtime routines with a series of Level Up Your Lunch events in select cities on Aug. 24.

“We know fall is a time for kick-starting structured routines, and with more than 10.4 million posts tagging #MealPrep on Instagram, advanced planning and thoughtful preparation are top of mind for consumers across the country," Allison Thomas, culinary expert for the Austin, Texas-based grocery chain, said in a release.

“For stress-free meal prep this fall, shoppers will find everything they need at Whole Foods Market for inspired and easy lunch packing—from 365 by Whole Foods Market staples like mini sandwich crackers and deli meats to fresh produce like tomatoes and grapes,” she said.

The first 200 shoppers to line up at select Whole Foods Market stores in Los Angeles; New York City; Austin; Miami, Fla.; Seattle; Atlanta; Philadelphia; and Boston can receive a complimentary, limited-edition bento box, designed in collaboration with Austin artist Will Bryant. Each box contains a $10 Whole Foods Market savings card, as well as a recipe card with tips and tricks for making creative, healthy lunches.

To further encourage nutritious, delicious and fun lunch making that is packed with fresh produce, Whole Foods offers tips for building a better bento box and easy meals to take to the office on its website.

Following the Level Up Your Lunch in-store events, consumers across the country will have an additional chance to win the limited-edition Whole Foods Market bento box by following @wholefoods on Instagram. Followers can enter for a chance to win one of 50 bento boxes from Aug. 26-Sept. 1 by responding to a prompt that will be posted on the @wholefoods Instagram channel. Winners will be announced on Sept. 9.
