After nearly 18 months of construction, Bee’s Marketplace, an independent grocer part of the Associated Food Stores network, opened the doors to a 55,000-square-foot store in Colorado City, Ariz. The independent grocer had originally opened a 8,200 square-foot store in the community in August 2013, but said shortly after opening, it became apparent the store was not large enough to serve and grow with the area.
The new store at 1045 S. Central St. opened March 15, offering residents in the Colorado City/Hildale, Utah, area expanded meat and produce departments, as well as a new additions such as a Ten45 Beer & Wine Garden and Beans & Brew Coffeehouse. Click through for a tour of the store.
A ribbon-cutting and flag-raising ceremony for the new store was held April 2. “We are excited to be able to bring this store and additional services to our community,” Richard Timpson, Bee’s Marketplace owner, said in a release. “I have a passion for this community and the people who live here. I look forward to providing closer access to such important services.”
