Shoppers now can go to and purchase Blue Apron meal kits without a subscription, and Blue Apron will directly fulfill the boxes.

The partnership between the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer and New York-based Blue Apron gives the meal-kit company the ability to scale its "e-commerce presence and introduce restaurant-quality meals without a subscription to a new group of customers who may not have considered meal kits before,” Blue Apron Chief Marketing Officer Dani Simpson said in a news release.

This is just the beginning, and we look forward to expanding the offering throughout the year,” Simpson continued.

Through, Blue Apron will offer four meal kits that server up to 12 people. Recipes include Cheese Crisp Burgers with Dijonnaise, Arugula & Balsamic Onions; and Rosemary & Panko Chicken with Roasted Potatoes & Creamy Lemon Sauce. Also available are Blue Apron’s Heat & Eat meals, already prepared, single-serve meals that are ready to eat in five minutes or less.

Blue Apron is the “first and only meal-kit provider on the Walmart Marketplace platform,” according to a release, and the company will also be participating in the Walmart+ Weekend online savings event (exclusively for Walmart+ members) that runs from June 2-5.

"At Walmart, finding ways to help our customers live a little better each day is at the heart of everything we do," said Sheetal Patel, general manager of food consumables, health and wellness, for Walmart U.S. Marketplace, in a news release. "These fantastic meal solutions will make it easier and faster for busy families and individuals to discover, plan, prepare and enjoy delicious and quality meals.”
