UNFI Adds DoorDash to Services Suite

UNFI said it was the first wholesaler to strike a deal with DoorDash, behind a new service bringing online ordering and delivery to its independent retail customers.

The distributor said the new 500,000-square-foot warehouse would serve Sprouts, Albertsons and other customers in the Phoenix and Las Vegas areas.

While COVID and related supply-chain and labor woes are directly affecting the wholesaler, UNFI's positioning also highlights its role as a solution, lifting optimism for fiscal 2022.

The current president of the wholesaler’s Pacific division will take on a new role overseeing local division strategies and best practices from them.

"C&S has the experience and knowledge to ensure that this 100-year-old icon continues for the next 100 years," Piggly Wiggly Midwest President Paul Butera Sr. says.
